On the 12th of April, representatives of the LIFE LEACHLESS project team visited the Zonzamas environmental complex in the island of Lanzarote, with the help of its Head of Service, Alvaro Cortecedo.
The complex, managed by URBASER, has a waste classification plant, a biomethanisation plant, a biostabilization plant, a glass management area and a landfill in which wastes that could not be recovered and recycled in the previous stages are dumped.
The leachates generated are treated in the installation itself, in a small plant intended for this purpose.
