At the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018, technical activities of the LIFE LEACHLESS project are focusing on the design and construction of the pilot plant.
Based on the activities carried out in the Preparatory Actions, the required information has been obtained from the operating conditions at laboratory scale of the evaporation/condensation and forward osmosis technologies, to carry out the scaling-up of the demonstration plant.
In addition, with regard to forward osmosis, the initial work carried out in the AQUAPORIN facilities has been completed in new scenarios of leachate previously treated using evaporation/condensation technology. This forward osmosis expansion work has achieved by the prototype that TRITON has construted in its own facilities.
